This is another typically overpriced, crammed together, tight to maneuver KOA. Only this one has the worst water I have ever seen in any campground. The water bubbles and taste terrible. Don't drink it: use bottled water. Also, some previous reviewers commented about the large rocks placed along the drive ways: well they are still there, making moving in and out of this place that much more fun.
This is a primitive and rustic type of campground with full hookups. You are basically parking in the owners yard behind some cabins he also rents. There are only six RV parking places all fairly level; well shaded with 30 amp electric, water, and sewer; and well spaced apart. The combination bath house/laundry can only accommodate one at a time for either a shower or to do laundry. There is no cable, wi-fi, or cell phone reception, and no local TV reception.
This is a park in development. The sites are all full hookup with 50/30 electrical and sewer. The pull throughs are quite large and can accommodate the largest of rigs. There is no pool, clubhouse, or playground for children. Most sites are in the open so SAT TV is no problem. The Wi-Fi was not working for the week we were there, storm damage to their antennas they said.
This park is located on the back of a farm. The facilities are not new but very well maintained. The park roads to your site are narrow but in good condition. Park is completely tree covered so forget SAT TV. Parking sites are somwhat level, spaced well apart but in among heavy trees making parking a challenge for large units.
We stayed here on Jan 1st. while traveling back home. This has to be one of the nicest, best equipped campgrounds we have ever stayed in. When you arrive, you check in at the hotel front desk and then drive to your assigned site. All sites are full hookup and fairly level. All sites have a concrete pad with picnic table and fire ring.
Actually stayed here in September 2008 but this website would only let me select 2009!!!! Campground is somewhat run down and in need of maintenance. Only stayed there because it was near places we were visiting. Site assigned was level but oddly laid out. Sewer was 20 feet from other hookups. Site was just a gravel path, roads were paved and in good shape. Management was friendly and helpful.
I stayed at this KOA while transporting a 40' motorhome. I checked in late at night and left early the next morning, so can't comment about amenities. I can say the site was reasonably level and all the hookups worked. Interior roads were paved, site was gravel and somewhat muddy.
I stayed here one night on our way back to St. Louis in a rental motor home. Everything was in good working order and the campground itself was clean and tidy. Interior roads were a bit tight to maneuver on into our designated site but the site was level and clean The Campground is completely tree covered so if you have Sat TV you will have a problem. The campground is located along I55 but far enough away that traffic noise is not a problem.
